The Department of Physics and Astronomy invites you to a Memorial Symposium to honor our late colleague Prof. Gavin Lawes, who passed away on October 16, 2015 after a two-year battle with cancer.

The full-day symposium will celebrate the life of Dr. Lawes and his contributions to science, as well as remembrances and reflections from colleagues, friends, and former students. The symposium talks will focus on the physics of strongly correlated electrons, ferromagnetism and multiferroics, as well as medical applications, featuring presentations from some of the leading experts in their respective fields.
